Power-Ups include Insta-Kill: Allows all players to insta-kill all normal zombies, Max Ammo: Refills the ammo reserve of all held weapons for every player, Double Points: Players receive double the number of points for the duration of 30-seconds, Nuke: kills all zombies that have spawned onto the map, Bonus Points: Gives all players 500 extra points, Carpenter: Repairs all barricades around the map and refills the players shield, Fire Sale: Causes all box locations to be active and changes the cost to 10 points, Full Power: Gives the player that picked it up a refill on the specialist weapon meter, Bonfire Sale: Makes the Pack-A-Punch cost 1000 Points and re-packing 500 points.
Wall Weapons on Tag Der Toten include the Strife, Essex Model 07, RK 7 Garrison, Saug 9mm, Escargot, MOG 12, Spitfire, Swordfish, Mozu, MX9, GKS, M1897 Trebuchet, Maddox RFB, KN-57, M1927, ICR-7, Vapr-XKG, Auger DMR, Titan, Koshka and the Bowie Knife.
Mystery Box Weapons bring back some of the old wonder weapons like the Thundergun, Matryoshka Doll, Ray Gun and the Ray Gun Mark ll. Other weapons found in the box are the Cymbal Monkey, ICR-7, Maddox RFB, KN-57, Hitchcock M9, Rampart 17, Vapr-XKG, Grav, Swat RFT, Peacekeeper, AN-94, Echohawk Dual Bore, Escargot, MX9, Spitfire, Saug 9mm, GKS, Cordite, MP-40, Daemon 3XB, Switchblade X9, VMP, MicroMG 9mm, Swordfish, Essex Model 07, ABR 223, Auger DMR, S6 Stingray, M16, Titan, Hades, VKM 750, Zweihander, Tigershark, SDM, Paladin HB50, Koshka, Outlaw, Vendetta, Locus, Havelina AA50, Mozu, RK 7 Garrisopn, KAP 45, SG12, MOG 12, M1897 Trebuchet, Rampage, Argus, Hellion Salvo, Ballistic Knife, and the Reaver C86.
The Power for Tag Der Toten will be needed to turn on the Perk Machines, Traps, Flinger and to turn on one of the many lights around the map, the power will also turn on the lighthouse light that always shows the location of the Pack-A-Punch machine as it moves around the map. The first Power Switch is located at the top of the first ship.
Players must activate two power switches and locate a blue rock to be given to the Hermit in order to use the Pack-A-Punch machine. The first power switch can be located at the Docks, whilst the second power switch can be found in the Bridge Room. Next, players will need to find a blue rock in the Lighthouse area. To grab the rock, players will need to melee the blue rock to grab it, then place it on the platform on the Lighthouse’s fourth level. The platform will be activated by the NPC named The Hermit, after which the Pack-A-Punch will be activated. To find the Pack-A-Punch machine, players will need to see where the blue light from The Lighthouse is pointing.
Four Ziplines are found on Tag Der Toten, one from the top of the ship near the power that takes the player to the spawn area, and the other is located at the top of the lighthouse that will take the player to the other ship near Mule Kick. Guns can be used on the zipline, but reloading is not possible, and players will need to run after the zipline as zombies and George Romero will be on the zipline also.
The Flinger can be found on the boat with the Power Switch, standing on the Flinger for three seconds will fling the player to the other side of the map near the lighthouse, if the player lays down and had PhD Flopper the player will cause an explosion when landing on the other side, if a zombie stands on it they will die by impact. The Flinger requires power and the lighthouse to be open.
The Tundragun is an upgradable wonder weapon that fires cyro rounds. The Tundragun can be acquired by completing an Easter Egg quest or through the Mystery Box. To complete the Tundragun Easter Egg, players will need to activate the two power switches and gain access to The Facility area above the lighthouse using the ziplines. Whilst at The Facility, players will need to find and throw snowballs at five targets within the time limit. To start the time limit, players will need to throw a snowball at the target above the area’s entrance. Successfully hitting each target will cue a ding noise. Once all targets have been hit with a snowball, The Tundragun will be available from a box on the ship.
The Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze is a wonder weapon on Tag Der Toten that has 8 charges. Players can obtain the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze through the Mystery box for 950 points or complete a side quest. Players can also upgrade the wonder weapon and turn it into the Wunderwaffe DG-Funkenschütze. To complete the mini-quest, players will need to melee or shoot three icicles and collect them when they fall. Then take these icicles, put them inside the pot in front of the ship, and collect the key from the melted icicles. Next, players will be able to use the key to unlock the safe in the Specimen Storage area and need to kill around 15 zombies until the Vril Device has been charged. The Vril device will then need to be given to the Hermit at the Lighthouse, where he will provide you with a key to open a chest with the Wunderwaffe.
Samantha’s Music Box is a grenade that can be used to kill zombies. When thrown, the music box will spawn Samantha Maxis from a portal holding the music box where she will drag zombies around in the air and kill them before vanishing. To obtain Samantha’s Music Box, you will need to find two punchcards in the Mountain Base area. The first punchcard will spawn in the Decontamination area either in the; sink, dryer, or eyewash station. The second punchcard can spawn in the Specimen Storage; near the toilet, near the mail, or at the canister. Then, players will need to go to the Security lobby area, place both punchcards in the security panel, retrieve them, and then insert them into the vault in the Human Infusion room. Finally, players will need to survive the wave of zombies until the vault opens, allowing them to grab Samatha’s Music Box.
Yellow Snowballs are a powerful snowball upgrade that can kill zombies with one hit. To upgrade regular snowballs into yellow snowballs, players will first need to throw snowballs at four puppets around the map, feed zombie souls into campfires, and finally, give rotting meat to the Hermit. The first Margwa puppet can be found in the Geological Processing area, on the canister shelf, or in the vents near the center of the chamber. The second Eddie Puppet can be located in the lighthouse either on the second floor in the window or the third floor near the entrance of the door. The third Samantha puppet can be found in the Lagoon area, either placed on the boat in the water or on a rock near the play area. The Final Fluffy puppet can be found in the Sun deck area, on the roof, or on top of the ziplines. After hitting all of the puppets, players will need to feed zombie souls into three campfires until they are no longer burning. Finally, players will need to collect a piece of meat in the large tank of the human infusion room by shooting the tank and take the meat to the Hermit on the fourth floor of the Lighthouse within a time limit to unlock the yellow snowball upgrade.
Players can unlock a free Fifth Perk on Tag Der Toten by collecting five figurines inside an ice cube. However, to grab the Margwa figurine at the Iceberg Pack-A-Punch spot, the Golden Pack-A-Punch machine will need to be unlocked. Nonetheless, each figurine will be placed near the Pack-A-Punch spawn locations to be collected and then need to be placed on the suitcase shrine in the Beach area. Once the figurines have been placed on the shrine, players will go into lockdown and need to survive the zombie wave to get a random perk.
Players can unlock the secret Hermit Jumpscare Easter Egg on Tag Der Toten by looking at the lighthouse’s light beam with a sniper scope. When the light beam faces the scope, they will trigger the jumpscare by The Hermit.
The Margwa Jumpscare Easter Egg can be triggered by players when looking at the paper in the Forecastle area that reads, “Margwa can’t hurt you, Margwa isn’t real.”
Players can unlock Freeze Mode by being frozen in the following locations; Sunken Path, Artifact Storage, The Beach, Hidden Path, Cargo Hold, Lighthouse Cove, Ice Grotto, Docks, Frozen Crevase and The Lagoon. After a player has frozen themselves and meleed the ice to free themselves, they can go to the spawn area and interact with a chunk of ice. This will slowly freeze the player if they don’t run around. However, if they complete the round whilst in Freeze Mode without freezing, they will be transported to round 200.
Players can find George Romero’s Glasses on the table in the Lighthouse Station near the light lamp. The glasses act as a tribute to the George Romero Black Ops character. Players can interact with the glasses, be awarded 500 points, and hear a George Romero quote.
To play the “A Light From The Shore” Musical Easter Egg, players will need to find three items. Players can find the first pitchfork item on the loading platform. Next, the Sickle item can be found near the Ice Grottos entrance when coming from the Lagoon. Finally, the machete can be found on the last tree trunk railing when walking along the hidden path.
To unlock the second “Reflections” Musical Easter Egg, players will need to interact with the lighthouse station’s metal door in front of the wall buy weapons three times. Each time a player interacts with the door, they should hear a knocking audio cue.
Players can access the Secret Area outside Tag Der Toten by being flung from the Lighthouse’s fourth floor. The secret area is an iceberg located outside the map with a water cavern with a view of Mars and the Shangri-La loading screen music playing in the background. Although not fully confirmed on how to get to the mysterious Secret Area, there are a few steps to increase your chances of being flung to the Secret Area. The first thing is to fix the flinger at the facility and then have two players running around near the flinger. Next, go around the flinger’s perimeter six times, after which the last player in line will be flung off the Lighthouse’s 4th floor. Once at the secret area, players will need to swim into the watered center and use your specialist to heal themselves once their health is below 50. They will eventually be transported and see the view of Mars.
Salvation Lies Above is the Main Easter Egg on Tag Der Toten and it can be completed with the steps below.
Step 1: Turn on the power in both areas, grab the Blue Rock in the Lighthouse Approach area and go to the Lighthouse’s top floor. Use the Stern and Forecastle ziplines to tighten the ziplines, then grab the zipline handle. Turn on the power in the Human Infusion room to activate the Golden Pack-A-Punch machine. (These steps above if you don’t already know them)
Step 2: Find two challenge totems and give them to the Hermit to complete their own 3 totem quests to complete both totems. Then go back to the Hermit in level 4 and grab the Dials from the dumbwaiter. Go to the Artifact Storage area in the Ship and find the four slots in the wall and place the dials and interact with them to set them in place to hear a ding audio cue.
Step 3: Listen to the Apothicon Blood’s voice-over wanting meat/bone. He will hint where to find it in 3 different spots and then bring it to him; subtitles will help to find these spots. Once you have found all three offerings, the Apothicon Blood will ask you to retrieve the Seal of Duality. Look for a poster from his hint, and then melee it to find a hidden safe. Use Dynamite to blow it up and get the Seal of Duality. Return to the Artifact Storage and insert the Seal of Duality near the Apothicon Blood.
Step 4: Turn all the 3 red orbs to blue by throwing a snowball at it. Then shoot the orbs to make it return to the Apothicon Blood in the Artifact Storage. Repeat this one more time. Collect the Seal of Duality and take it to the Sunken Path’s campfire. Throw a Samantha Music Box into the campfire along with the Seal to make the fire burn blue.
Step 5: Go to the Hermit in the Lighthouse’s level 4 and grab the soapstones of the dumbwaiter. Place both soapstones on a fire trap and an ice trap, then activate the traps to infuse the soapstones elementally. Go to the Human Infusion area and insert the soapstones into the human tubes and then collect the fuse in the center of the room.
Step 6: Go to the Lighthouse Station, find the locked door; place the fuse into the slot to see and hear Nikolai. Per Nikolai’s instructions, charge up the power by shooting the generators with the Wunderwaffle DG, which are usually hidden outside the map up near power lines lightly sparking.
Step 7: Kill Electric zombies near the boathouse and Lighthouse Areas’ generators, and the Lighthouse Station will be unlocked. Go to the Lighthouse Station secret room and grab the Elemental Shard. Go to the Artifact Storage and place the shard near the blood orb to summon the Apothicon Blood. Shoot it to make it go back into place until the screen flashes white.
Step 8: As the small blood orbs fly around, you will need to repeat steps 4-7. Deliver the strange device to the Hermit in the Lighthouse and then kill the zombies during the lockdown. Retrieve the Device from the Hermit and place it in each of four Pack-A-Punch machines but not the Golden Machine. Charge the device in the Machines by killing and feeding it zombie souls, after full take the device to the Apothicon Blood in the Artifact Storage, and then shoot the Apothicon Blood.
Step 9: Once the Apothicon has flown onto the device, go to the Sunken Path with the device and throw it again into the campfire with another Samantha’s music box to purify it. Grab the Purified device and place it in the Golden Pack-A-Punch machine. Kill zombies to charge the device until the device floats around. Follow the device and kill any zombies whilst staying in the shield, eventually leading to the Human Infusion area. Collect the device once it lowers.
Step 10: Go to the Hermit’s dumbwaiter in the Lighthouse and place the device there. Have all players go to the Sundeck on the Ship and wait until the Hermit ascends. Once completely ascended, collect the device in the Forecastle area near the pot to watch the ending cutscene. Once the cutscene ends, you will have completed the Salvation Lies Above Easter Egg. Congratulations!
