St. Petrograd

Outside of St. Petrograd map you will see many buildings that are similar to the building in St. Petersburg, Russia along with many statues. You can also see a small waterway just to the outskirts of the map filled with small boats and garbage.

At the beginning of the game your team will drop into the map on one of two helicopters as the enemy rides in on the back of an armored truck.

Many signs around the map can be seen with a picture of Omar Sulaman (The Wolf), the signs say to release him. The Wolf is one of the two main antagonists in the campaign of this game. He is the leader of Al-Qatala, a terrorist organization responsible for masterminding the theft of chemical weapons.

The bonze Lion on the map is one of the two Lions at the Dvortsovaya pier, placed at the Admiralty embankment in Saint Petersburg since 1832. The lion is best known among several Medici lions and other lion sculptures.

Inside the train station is a sign that translates to a funny little story. The same this has been seen in past Modern Warfare maps and reads: The spot I’m typing this in is really tiny, that’s why I can fill it with a bunch of words which makes it look real, but really it’s all bullshit. You won’t know what I wrote because the text is so small it’s ineligible and that’s probably for the best because I can’t speak or write Russian, and it’s probably all incorrect. In any case, I value you – the person I have never met who took the time to carefully study this sign. Although we will never meet, I’m happy to know you saw my work. In order to make it seem real, we just need to create an illusion that whatever is written here makes sense. For your convenience please arrive to the terminal at least fifteen minutes before train departure. In any case, you should probably really stop looking at this sign, you’ve got a train to the war. I wouldn’t want you to be late on my account. Either way, it would have never worked out between us. It’s for the better. We are from two different worlds. You, an organic lifeform, and me, a sign. You can die tomorrow and I, I can already feel my irritation rising because every terminal has electronic signs now. Hello to my friends and family who supported me in my struggle to be the best sign I ever could be. I couldn’t make it without you. You are the reason I get out of my metaphorical bed. You really taught me what it means to be informative and every day I try to follow in your stead and be as helpful and legible as possible.

Risky Parker is a Trial that can be played on this map to earn extra experience points. Move through each checkpoint and finish the course as quickly as possible. Beware of the heavy toxic gas on low ground. Your loadout will only be a combat knife and you get three attempts. 5,000 points if you get 1 star, 7,500 for 2 stars and 10,000 if you can get 3 stars. There is also a second trial with just a Riot Shield.

This multiplayer map can be played in the Special Ops Survival Mode, up to four players can play against enemy forces and fight off waves of increasingly difficult and determined combatants in a variety of experiences and unlock bonus in-game content along the way.
