Stalingrad in winter, based on the pivotal yet long Eastern Front battle. One of the game’s largest maps, action here is focused around a central courtyard and the buildings on the perimeter. – Red Star
Outside of Red Star, you will see many Stalingrad buildings destroyed and on fire, all areas are covered in snow with much more heavy snow falling. A large amount of snow makes some area’s visibility very poor.
In the center of the courtyard, player will see Barmaley Fountain, originally built in the 1930s by the Soviet Union and removed in the 1950s. A replica was installed at the original site in 2013 for the 71st anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad. Its official name is Children’s Khorovod (Round Dance).
Many signs around the map can be translated from Russian to: “FORWARD TO THE ENEMY”, “A Russian soldier will never kneel!” and many others.
Many toys are found inside the living quarters, some dolls, a large toy truck, and even a Volkswagen type 82 “Kübelwagen” toy car, the Volkswagen Type 82 “Kübelwagen” is a Nazi German military car from WWII.
